SUN-MI HONG QUINTET
INTRODUCTION
As one of the leading emerging talents on the vibrant Dutch scene, Sun-Mi Hong has earned a stellar reputation for her creativity and energy. Born and raised in Korea, she has lived in Amsterdam for the past ten years. Her long-running quintet has been in existence since 2017, balancing compositions with the unpredictability of improvised music. Sun-Mi says, “the quintet pushes its own boundaries every time, constantly looking for new ways to make a typical jazz quintet sound decidedly atypical, fresh and unique.”
